A Comprehensive Program for Students of All Ages
Our classes are designed to provide students with a well-rounded, immersive experience in acting, dance, and voice in one cohesive program, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in all aspects of musical theatre.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in:
Acting – Focus on monologues, scene work, and character development.

Dance for Music Theatre – Unlock the world of tap and musical theatre jazz in this multi-level class. Each session hones in on a specific discipline, allowing students to build a strong foundation in Musical Theatre Dance.
Masterworks on Stage - In this advanced acting course, students will explore iconic works by playwrights such as Henrik Ibsen, Anton Chekhov, and George Bernard Shaw, diving into the texts that shaped modern theatre.

Early Stages Theatre (ages 3-5)

Our Early Stages Theatre class is designed to spark young imaginations and build the foundation for confident, creative expression. By the end of the course, children will develop improved communication skills, enhanced creativity, and a newfound love for storytelling, fostering their self-assurance and ability to collaborate in a theatrical setting.
Adult musical theatre dance (18+)

A fast paced and fun dance class for actors to brush up on their technique. This class is two times a week, focusing on ballet and jazz with a focus on musical theatre. Bring your jazz and tap shoes and join us for this combination based class for professional actors of all levels.
Acting for Adults (18+ yrs)

This Adult Acting class fosters self-expression, social connection, and storytelling skills through interactive theatre exercises, scene work, and improvisation. Guided by experienced teaching artists, participants will explore character development, voice, movement, and collaborative performance techniques.

Theatrical After School Care Program (5 - 13 yrs)

This one-of-a-kind after-school program blends the magic of theatre with the structure and support families need. Students will enjoy a safe, engaging space filled with acting games, improvisation, music, dance, crafts, and storytelling—while also receiving dedicated time for academic tutoring and homework help. Each afternoon offers a mix of creativity and learning, giving students the chance to express themselves, build confidence, and stay on track academically.
Audition Prep for Actors (10 - 18 yrs)
Wednesdays 7PM - 8PM
Designed for aspiring performers ready to take their craft to the next level, this class focuses on the essential tools needed to succeed in any audition room. Students will work on monologue selection, cold reads, slating, and callback etiquette, while developing confidence, presence, and authenticity in performance. Through individualized coaching, mock auditions, and industry insight, actors will learn how to prepare with intention, present themselves professionally, and leave a lasting impression.
Vocal Performance(10 - 18 yrs)

In this energetic and collaborative class, students will build vocal technique, explore musical theatre and contemporary repertoire, and learn the fundamentals of singing in harmony. From breath support to blending, this group voice experience emphasizes healthy vocal habits, ensemble cohesion, and performance confidence. Students will prepare songs as a group and have the opportunity to showcase their work at Area Stage events throughout the season.
Improv for Actors (10 - 18 yrs)

This fast-paced and playful class equips actors with the tools to think on their feet, make bold choices, and stay present in the moment. Through a variety of theatre games, character-building exercises, and scene work, students will strengthen their spontaneity, listening skills, and creative confidence.
Mommy and Me Theatre Class (All Ages)
Saturdays 9AM - 9:45AM
Designed for little ones and their grown-ups, this joyful introduction to theatre uses music, movement, storytelling, and imaginative play to spark creativity and connection. Caregivers and children will explore the magic of the stage side by side—acting out stories, singing songs, and dancing together in a nurturing and playful environment. Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers developing early social, motor, and communication skills.
Hip Hop Dance (10 - 18 yrs)
Saturdays 9AM - 10AM
This high-energy class introduces dancers to the fundamentals of hip hop through grooves, footwork, rhythm, and freestyle exploration. Students will learn dynamic choreography while building confidence, coordination, and personal style. Set to age-appropriate, upbeat music, this class is perfect for dancers who love to express themselves, stay active, and bring big energy to the stage.
Tap Dance (10 - 18 yrs)

This rhythmic and lively class introduces dancers to the fundamentals of tap technique, including basic steps, timing, and musicality. Students will explore classic and contemporary tap styles while developing coordination, listening skills, and a strong sense of rhythm. With a focus on both individual footwork and group choreography, this class is perfect for dancers who love to move, make noise, and have fun.
Theatre Appreciation (5-12 yrs)

The Conservatory at the Area Stage Company offers private lessons in all musical theatre disciplines year-round! Private lessons are a structured, personalized, and engaging way to perfect your craft and are offered to students of all ages. Students may choose half-hour, hour-long, or 1 1/2 hour-long slots. Lessons may be scheduled regularly for an entire session, or for only a short period (such as for audition preparation). We will work with you to determine your experience level and needs, and will match you with the instructor who is the best fit for you.
Theatre Immersion (6+)
