Be careful what you wish for as Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s iconic fairytale comes to life in Into the Woods Jr. This adapted version of their Tony Award-winning musical features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch — in a lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.
The story centers on a Baker and his wife, who wish for a child, Cinderella, who longs to attend the King’s festival, and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, they embark on a journey to break the curse and are forever changed. With unforgettable roles, minimal dancing, and no chorus, this production highlights the talent of a medium-sized ensemble of young singers and actors, with a sophisticated score that has been adapted to be more accessible for young performers.
